Tips on Organizing a Home Office

If you're like me and work from home or just love spending a lot of time online at your desk (also like me!), then this post is going to seriously inspire you to get organized.  Trust me, being organized is not only efficient but it's a way to personalize your work space and make it a place you WANT to be working in!  I know when my home office is organized and tidied up, I feel completely refreshed and ready to accomplish everything on my to-do list and maybe even a thing or two more!  ;)

Tip 1: Use boxes, bins, jars, etc to separate necessities like pens, pencils, thumb tacks, markers, etc!  Keeping these things in their own little place means that they won't get lost and you'll be able to find them in a snap of your fingers.  Plus, it looks cute.  ;)  I got these mini buckets (not sure exactly what they're called) that are sitting on my desk from Target for a $1, if I remember correctly.  Target ALWAYS has them in their little "hot spot" at the front of the stores.  They usually switch them out each season.  I bet they have some super festive Halloween ones now!

Tip 2: Here's  a DIY for ya!  Take an old photo frame, or buy a cheap one from the dollar store, put a piece of scrap book paper in, and voilà! - You've got yourself a dry erase board.  Use that bad boy as a place to keep daily reminders, notes, or even a monthly calendar!  I usually like to put my "fun" to-do's on it as a way to keep me motivated to get all my work done!

Tip 3: Inspiration boards are a MUST in a home office.  Trust me, they're going to make your mind go round and work wonders when you're having a moment - yeah, you know what I mean!  We all have those days where we wake up and feel completely down and uninspired.

Tip 4: Get a set of book shelves!  These used to be in my parent's basement, but they've "lent" them to us - aka gave them to us haha... I don't think they'll want this thing back.  I've been wanting to actually paint them or put some kind of design in the back to make it really pop, but I honestly just haven't gotten to it yet!  Book shelves are great for organizing and they only space they really take up is wall space.  I like to keep some of my photography books, old cameras,  notebooks, and my files on these shelves.

I hope some of these tips were helpful to you in organizing your own office space at home.  My home office will always be a work in progress and I hope one day when I own my own house, I can make it everything I dreamed to be!  For further inspiration, check out my Home Office Pinterest board!  :)  Don't forget to comment below and tell me how you organize your at home work space!  Do you have an inspiration board to keep you motivated and inspired each day?  Have a beautiful day, readers.  <3
