My New Home - Progress

Hello lovelies!  If you haven't noticed, I've been a busy bee lately.  Spring semester is officially in full swing and I've been in the process of moving house... on top of my regular work schedule of course.  This move was so sudden that I really didn't have time to plan for all of this on my plate, so yeah, stressed is an understatement.  Okay okay... I'm done complaining!  Let's get into the fun stuff - decorating and making the new place feel like home.  :)  I've managed to capture a few snaps on my iPhone of the place when we first got the keys and how some of it looks now.  I thought I'd share with you all...

Dun dun dunnn... When we first got the keys!  I definitely had mixed emotions about it.  Sad to leave my old place, but loving this fireplace.  Every Christmas, I always wish for a mantel!

And here's the progress!  Still have a long way to go, but it's getting there and that makes me excited! :)  We did manage to paint the inside of the fireplace white and the floor of is black and amazingly, it made that area feel SO much more open!

Also, Austin and I are downsizing from a 2 bedroom/2 bath/basement apartment to a 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment.  We've had to say goodbye to some of our things and are managing to find ways to make storage look cute.  Once we're completely settled in would you all like to see a blog post featuring the new place and I can give some tips on storage in a small apartment/room?  Let me know.  I think I'll do it regardless because I'm too obsessed with decorating and organizing!  Feel free to leave me any tips in the comments below.  xo Ali Bee
